Mr. A.E. Cochran, the well known tailor, died at his home on Locust street early Saturday morning after a protracted illness, and was buried Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Grover C Clark officiating.

A.E. Cochran was born in Cecil county, Maryland in April 1822 lacking at the time of his death one year and two weeks of filling the allotted time of man, three score years and ten. He emigrated to Illinois in 1862, locating in Sterling, and entering the employ of McCloy & Galt, who were running a dry good and tailoring establishment, Mr. Cochran taking charge of the later.

A loving companion of many years and nine children are left to mourn. Five of the children, Mrs. Wm. Bell, Miss Clara, Edward, Charles & Frank are living in Sterling. Two daughters, Mrs. Dempsey and Mrs. Edwards reside in Missouri, a son John, in Arkansas, and son William in Utah.
