OBITUARY: Cedar Springs Clipper, Wednesday, April 9, 1890, Page 1
Accident and Death.
On Friday morning last, at about 7 o'clock, while working at the Cedar Springs Roller Mills, James Lovejoy fell through an opening in the floor made by removal of stairway, 8 1/2 feet to the next floor, striking on right side and face, senseless. Dr. Dewar was called, and conveyance Mr. L was taken home, suffering great pain, dying at 3 o'clock Sunday morning, aged 61 years 4 months 11 days. James Lovejoy was an honest, industrions and an upright citizen, respected by all. Funeral conducted by Jewell Post, G.A.R., and services at M.E. Church and an excellent sermon by Rev. (Capt.) H.D. Jordan, and remains intered in Elmwood Cemetery, on Monday afternoon.
