Professional Football Player. For eight seasons (1974 to 1981), he played at the safety position in the National Football League with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions. Born James Lee Allen, he was raised in California where he attended Pierce Junior College and later UCLA. Selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 4th round of the 1974 NFL Draft, he totaled 110 career regular season games. He experienced two Super Bowl titles with Pittsburgh individually produced a career high 9 interceptions with Detroit in 1981.
