Dau of Jacob and Sarah Jane (Jackson) Vanderslice, both of AL, who had 12 children. Sarah died at Miami Co Ks in 1868,
and may be buried in the Indianopolis Cemetery, Miami Co Ks.

M: Samuel Nelson Gregg January 15 1864, Miami County KS.
They lived part of their married life around the family farm of Samuel's parents, James Wesley and Martha (Timmons) Gregg, at Wadesburg, Cass Co, Mo. Several of Samuel and Rebecca's children were born there. Their children include:

1900 census shows Rebecca had 8 of 8 children living.

1920 Allen KS: GREGG Rebecca M./71/IN/self/wd. Also in husehold were ROPP, John William/45Y/Germany, Dora S/31/KS, William J/12Y/AZ, Minnie May*/10Y/AZ. Relationship, if any, between Rebecca and the Ropp family unknown.
(*note: Minnie May was adopted, her birthname was Wells, she was born in MO. to Randolph Wells and Julia Alice Bellomy, who died with Minnie's birth.)

Thanks to the Blackwells, who searched the cemetery for a marker for Rebecca and found none. They did find one for Rebecca Mazona Morgan 1843-1923. While the given names and dates are quite similar, they are not the same person.

Oct 2013: NO MARKER FOUOND. Volunteer photographer wrote:
"I walked the entire cemetery as well as St. Johns cemetery next to it and didn't find a stone for this person. Found the stone for her husband, and the opposite side of the stone was the same as his with the word Hope on the top. There was no inscription on the west side of the stone. If she is buried in this cemetery, there is no stone for her. There is another stone next to this one for "Little Riley", so she should have been buried near these two stones."
