Funeral service will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, Arnaudville, for Anatole Freré Arnaud, age 89, who passed away Friday, July 20, at 4:45 a.m. at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Melancon Funeral Home of Arnaudville, 224 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Arnaud was a resident of Arnaudville but was previously a resident of Baton Rouge for more than 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. A veteran of the military, Mr. Arnaud served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Arnaudville V.F.W. Post 5153 and was a member of Louisiana Plumber and Electric IUOE Local 406 in Baton Rouge.

Survivors include his wife, Ezola Begnaud Arnaud of Arnaudville; a brother, Ivy Arnaud of Lake Charles; five sisters, Earline Knott, Etheline Taylor and Girlie Olivier, all of Arnaudville, Anna Bell Richard of Baton Rouge and Ida Arceneaux of Lake Charles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Montagnoli; his grandmother, Bertha Olivier; his parents, Alba Arnaud Sr. and the former Berthilde Olivier; his stepmother, Emetile Robin; three brothers, Harvey Arnaud, Harry Arnaud and Alba Arnaud, Jr.; and two sisters, Irene Taylor and Hilda Cormier.
