Born July 24, 1939, in Salisbury, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Olive (Shoemaker) Engle. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde Engle, Sr., Franklin D. Engle, Denver R. Engle, Francis L. Engle and Charles E. Engle; two sisters, Betty Pletcher and Rohama J. Deitke.
Jean was a homemaker, enjoyed playing bingo and all Pittsburgh sports teams.
She is survived by daughter at heart, Patricia Ackerman, husband, Ron and son, Jason, Meyersdale; sons at heart, Johnny Failinger, Kenneth Zimmerman and Jamie Failinger, all of Meyersdale; one brother, Wendell H. Engle, Cleveland, OH; nephew, Ron Engle, Meyersdale and furry friend, "Sheriff".
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Gray officiating. Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery.
