SANDY LEVEL, Va. - Jack Willard Dalton, 83, died Wednesday afternoon, July 12, 2006, at his home, 674 Drive, Mease Drive, Sandy Level, Va.
Born Jan. 24, 1923, to the late Pomp Anderson Dalton and Cora Jefferson Dalton. Jack loved to hunt and enjoyed bluegrass music anytime and anywhere. He was a friend to all, and to all a friend.
He was an assembly line worker for General Motors.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ruth Dalton of the residence; one daughter, Bernice Hedrick of Sandy Level; two sons, Lawrence Dalton of Penhook and Jackie Dalton of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren, Dean Carter, Trenda Leavitt, Amanda Carter, Dee Dee Tyrrell, Misty Hedrick, and Lorretta Dalton; five step-children, Barbara Carr, Donna Clarke, Mike Peterson, Karen Bradner, and Eddie Lemley; 14 step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Mike, Missy, Krissy, Patrick, Eric, Wayne, Timmy, Wendy, Lisa, Laura, Chris, Brent, and Aaron.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Clarence Dalton, Walter Dalton and Carl Dalton; and two sisters, Edith Dehart and Ethel Robertson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Mr. Dalton's residence, 674 Drive, Mease Drive, Sandy Level with Minister Wayne Grinnell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
The family would like to take this time to say a special thanks to all of Jack's care givers, Hospice of Franklin County, and his nurses, to all thanks, your deeds will never be forgotten.
