Estherwood- A Graveside Gathering of family and friends will be held for Sylvia F. Kibodeaux at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Estherwood Cemetery in Estherwood, LA.
Sylvia Faye Kibodeaux was born in Jennings, LA on 07/22/1945 to Della and Hillard Myers, Sr. and was raised in Estherwood, LA. She then made a life for her and her six children in Lake Arthur, where she was a driver for Jeff Davis Community Action for 7 years. During this time, she also worked for the Lake Arthur Police Dept. as a patrol officer and then later became a dispatcher. She then moved to Powder Springs, GA, where she drove for the Behavioral Health Program and later became a House Parent for the residents with mental health issues where she retired from in 2011. She then returned to Gueydan, LA to reside till her passing on 12/16/2019.
Survivors include one brother, Charles Myers (Brenda) of Lacassine ,LA: two sisters, Edna "Chicken" Hebert of Estherwood ,LA and Brenda "Susie" Istre (Calvin) of Crowley LA; her six children, Wilson "Joey" Kibodeaux (Judy) of Gary TX, Kevin Kibodeaux (Chantell) of Bealeton VA, Monique Simar (Kevin) of Powder Springs, GA, Brian Kibodeaux (Francis) of Cleburne TX, Brandon "Peabody" Kibodeaux (Jade) of Gueydan ,LA and Christopher "Roach" Kibodeaux of Denham Springs LA, along with a host of grandchildren; great -grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many family and friends .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and Hillard Myers Sr.; one sister, Jeanette Myers Bertrand; one brother, Hillard "Sonny" Myers, Jr. and one nephew, Anthony "Tony" Bertrand.
