Maggie Bowling Keen, 63, of Abbs Valley, VA died in a Bluefield hospital Sunday, May 25, 1980 after a long illness.

She was born in 1917 to Lula B. Johnston-Bowling (1896-1987) and the late Richard Oscar Bowling (1892-1953). In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Keen (1914-1955) whom she married on November 18, 1935 in Welch, McDowell County, WV, 1935, Page 107, Application Date: November 18, 1935); and a sister, Mabel Bowling-Halsey (1918-1977).

She is survived by one son, Harley Keen of Abbs Valley; one half-brother, Wilburn "Bill" Bowling (1931-Deceased) of Statesville, NC; seven half-sisters, Lucille Anne "Granny" Bowling-Clark (1932-2013) of Wilcoe, Winnie May Bowling-Workman-Evans (1935, 2013) of Welch, Edna "June" Bowling-Pippin (1936-2012) of Warriormine, Mary Bowling-Belcher (B. 1938) , Virginia "Ginny" Bowling-Belcher (1940-Deceased), both of East Detroit, MI, Alberta Jane Bowling-Green (1944-2001) of Welch andJanice Bowling-Sandifer of Abbs Valley; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Shumate-Newman Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Rev. Lillian Childress and. Rev. David Engleman officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery.
