Rose Lena Hickey was born 10 September 1872 in South Bend, Indiana to Eli and Clarissa Hickey and was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church five days later. She married Noble Augustus Reading on 14 May 1895. According to her death certificate, she died of a" hemorrhage" on 16 May 1903. Rose lived at 1115 N. Lawrence Street at the time of her death. According to her death certificate, her body was buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery at Notre Dame three days after her death. The 'South Bend Times' reported her death in its 18 May 1903 Mortuary Record on page 1.
