SYRACUSE -- Albert Wayne "Al" Glasscock, 89, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born May 22, 1924, in Fairbury, Neb., to Stephen Archibald Glasscock and Letha Louella Riggle Glasscock. He graduated from Fairbury High School in 1942.

On Nov. 24, 1946, he married Inez Marie Brunkow in Fairbury. In 1961, they moved to Syracuse where they managed the 66 Cafè and later designed and built the Holiday Capri and managed it until 1968. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Michael Glasscock of Lake City, Colo.; a brother, Stephen Glasscock of Wichita; a sister, Alice Westerhoff of Wichita; a granddaughter; three stepgranddaughters; a stepgrandson; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lewis, George and Robert Glasscock; and five sisters, Theresa Martin, Thelma Martin, Emma Schultz, June Stapules and infant sister Lily Glasscock.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. MDT Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Syracuse. Inurnment will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
