Husband of Selma M. nee Meierhoff. Son of Jeremiah and Eleanor (Seiple) Strohl.

U.S. Army veteran of World War I. Pfc, Company B, 4th Infantry Pennsylvania National Guard and Company C, 108th Machine Gun Battalion, 28th Division. Served from June 24, 1916 to May 26, 1919. Saw action in the Second Battle of the Marne, Courmont Hill and Fismes engagements. Severely wounded at Fismes on Aug 13, 1918.
