Abraham Stickles b. 1808, known as Abram, married 24 Oct 1831 (Sussex County marriage record) Elizabeth Johnston born c. 1796. Abram was a resident of Newton township on 14 Feb 1840 when he bought a house lot in the village of Lafayette, then part of Newton township (X3:599). Elizabeth died 20 Apr 1844 40 yrs (memorial marker) Old Newton Cemetery. Abraham married 10 Aug 1844 (Sussex County marriage record) Esther Havens born 30 June 1810 daughter of Daniel Havens and Mary Gustin. Abraham and Esther were of Lafayette township 1 Dec 1845 when they deeded the lot in Lafayette to his brother, Zachariah Stickles of Newton as trustee for the benefit of Margaret Savacool, wife of Jacob Savacool for $1 in view of love and affection for his aunt (E4:289). The next day Jacob and Margaret Savacool sold Abraham an 11.6 acre tract in Stillwater township (E4:290). They removed at that time from Lafayette to Stillwater and they were living in Stillwater when Abraham and Esther sold the 11.6 acre tract to Alexander McDaniels (F4:219). Abraham and two children were enumerated in Frankford township in 1850, residing with Mary Bell, a widow with one son. On 8 Feb 1853 Abraham and Mary were married. Enumerated in Newton township in 1860, residing east of the village of Andover, both age 55, with no children in their household, except a fifteen year old girl, Louisa Anderson. He is the Abram Stickles, age 67, enumerated in Andover township in 1870 with wife, Mary, age 65, both enumerated as unable to write and Abram unable to read. Enumerated in Andover in 1880.

DIED. STICKLES - April 26th, in Andover, Mary Stickles, aged 79 years (The Sussex Register, Newton, New Jersey, May 3, 1882).

DIED STICKLES - Feb. 13th, in New York city, Abram Stickles, aged 75 years and 8 months. Interment at Andover (The Sussex Register, Newton, New Jersey, Wednesday, February 20, 1884).

1. Ann M. Stickles b. c. 1837.
2. Ayers Stickles b. c. 1839.
3. perhaps George Stickles b. c. 1843 enumerated in 1850 in an Ayers household in Green Township.
