Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baumgarten Funeral Home for LeRoy Owens, 66, who passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Florence Elsbury, on Friday. Alvin Nicholson, pastor of the Church of Christ had charge of the services. Pallbearers were Kenneth Elsbury, Robert Elsbury, Harold Elsbury, Wayne Elsbury, Gerald Johannsen and Ray Davis. Interment was in Waterman cemetery.
Mr. Owens had made his home here with his sister, Mrs. Elsbury, for more than a year, having come from Amlboy, Minn , when his health began to fail Another sister, Laura Owens, of Ontario, Cal., has also been here to help care for him during his illness.

LeRoy Owens, son of Frank and Mary Owens, was born September 7, 1883, in Calhoun county, Iowa, and passed away November 4, 1949, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Florence Elsbury, at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 28 days.
As a child he attended public schools in Calhoun county, and also became a member of the Methodist church. He had lived in Calhoun county for 42 years when he moved to Amboy, Minn., where he resided for 23 years. About 1 year ago, being in failing health, he came to the home of his sister, where his two sisters have taken care of him until his death.
He was preceded In death by his parents and one brother, William.
He is survived by one brother, Earl, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 2 sister, Mrs Florence Elsbury, of Sutherland, and Laura Owens, of Ontario, Calif., besides several nieces and nephews.
