J.T. Crockett, 67, Kingsport, TN passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 peacefully at his residence.
J.T. was born in Scott County, VA on May 2, 1946 to the late Claude and Mary Ruth Howington Crockett.
J.T. Crockett retired from Bays Mountain Park after severing 30 years as caretaker and supervisor.
Mr. Crockett is survived by his wife, Brenda Absher Crockett, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Kristie L. Crockett and fiancé, Tim Light, Kingsport, TN; son, Travis Crockett and wife, Amy, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Melba Silcox, Castlewood, VA, Dorothy Greene, Detroit, MI, Betty Cyphers and husband, Tom, Granite Falls, NC, Edith Mason, Kingsport, TN, Patsy Gragg, Kingsport, TN, Kathy Cooke and husband, Kenneth, Kingsport, TN, Rhonda Tyman and husband, Jackie, Kingsport, TN; brother, Glen Saul, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Shawn Manis, Dustin Manis, Olivia McNew, Brandon Livingston, Savannah Livingston, Megan Livingston, Isabella McNew, Michael Holt, Jessica Holt, Brooklyn Rae and one great grandchild on the way; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Lester Morelock and Rev. Eddie McAmis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Dean Cemetery in Rogersville, TN. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be meeting at 12:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home to go to the graveside service.
