Funeral services will be Monday, May 13, 2013 at 4pmCT/5pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Elbert Hadley the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3pmCT/4pmET, Monday, May 13, 2013.
Bolin Burris, Adair County, KY (1922-2013)
He was born the son of the late Charlie and Dora (Barnes) Burris on Friday, April 13, 1922 at Joppa in Adair County, KY. He died Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 26 days.
Mr. Burris served his country in the Navy, and had been employed as a grounds keeper at the University of Michigan for 40 years. Not only did he work for the University of Michigan, but was an avid fan of the football and basketball teams. His other interests included rabbit hunting, playing poker and he was a long time walker at Briarwood Mall. He is is survived by his wife of 68 years, Christine, and the following:
His sisters in law, Juanita Tweedy and Edith Burris
Several nieces and nephews
And a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Arvin, and his sisters, Floy, Alma, Dorothy and Mattie
