MRS. JACOB REICHTER
Died. — Monday evening at the home of her mother, Mrs. Kershner, in Goldfield, Mrs. Jacob Reichter, after a long and painful illness.
Mary Lucinda Kershner was born in Virginia, Jan. 30, 1859, was married to Jacob Reichter in Maroa, Ill., Mar. 9, 1881. In January 1882, the couple moved upon the Dillingham farm south of Clarion. In l882 they removed to the Helmer farm near Goldfield, living there two years. In 1884 they moved upon the Perry Brassfield farm, and in 1889 removed to their own farm 2½ miles northeast of Holmes, where they have since resided.
Four children, Homer, Florence, Walter and Asa, remain to comfort, in a measure, the bereaved husband.
Mrs. Reichter's death is the first break in the Kershner family circle. Ten children have grown to maturity. All of the brothers and sisters were at Mrs. Reichter's bedside at the last, excepting Mrs. Mary Braden of Illinois. There were present James, Jacob, George, Link and Frank Kershner, Mrs. De Noyelles, Mrs. H. Mclntyre and Mrs. John Riley.
Eight weeks ago, Mrs. Reichter came to her mother's home to be cared for. Her ailment, apparently a catarrhal consumption, continued to gain ground and last Monday evening, after a severe illness, which never seemed to destroy her marvelous powers of patience and endurance and thoughtfulness of others, the loved wife, daughter and sister breathed her last.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Rev. Findley conducting, and interment took place in our beautiful cemetery. The daily patient heroism of such lives will not be unrewarded.
