Mrs. Carrender was born April 20, 1898, in Barnett, MO, the daughter of Thomas and Laura Bailey Hindman. She was married to Vacile L. Carrender, who preceded her in death in 1973. She was a cook for Junction Grade School, Kansas City, KS, as well as a member of the Church of God of Prophesy, Kansas City, KS. Survivors include her son, James T. Carrender, Kansas City, MO; daughter, Laura Baird, Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
