November 2019 - Passage. Larry Bennett Sowby passed away on November 6th, 2019 at his home in Magna Utah at the age of 76 due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. Larry was born on November 13th, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Lawrence Morrod Sowby and Wilma Mae Bennett. He married his lifelong love Bonnie Lee Olsen on May 17th, 1971 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 20th, 1976.
Larry graduated from Cyprus High School in 1962. He served in the US Army from 1964 and was a SP4 medic when his service ended in 1966. Larry worked at Kennecott for close to 40 years where he utilized his natural mechanic and carpentry talents, expanding them further when he graduated with honors from the Utah Technical College in 1987. Larry loved people, especially serving his brothers and sisters in many church callings over the years.
Larry is survived by his wife Bonnie; his children Anthony, Jeremy (Ada), Cindy, Melanie, Courtney (LaNette); his siblings Mary (Walter) and Thelma and his Grandchildren; Valerie, Emily, Jeffrey, Alex, Randy, Jezabelle and Damian.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Wilma, sister Anne and grandson Vaughn as well as several beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Funeral service held on November 13th at 11:00 am, Lake Ridge 3rd Ward in Magna, Utah. Interment will follow at Memorial Lake Hills Cemetery, 10055 S State St Sandy, Utah.
