Franklin A. Bowser, 82, for many years a leading Freedom Township farmer, died Sunday, May 7, 1939 at the home of his son, Harry Bowser, at Leamersvllle.
Born in Bedford county, he was a son of Daniel and Susannah (Feathers) Bowser. His wife, Mrs. Mary C. Bowser, preceded him in death four years ago. Members of the family Included seven children. Mrs. Delia Eicher of Newry, Mrs. Bertha Aungst, Lemon Bowser and Harry Bowser, all of Leamersvllle; Mrs. Rhoda Bowmaster of Hollidaysburg R. D. 1, Mrs. Emma Berkheimer of Petersburg and Mearle Bowser of Queen; 39 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ward of Tyrone and Mrs. Emma May of Philadelphia; one brother, William Bowser of Lock Haven; three half-sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Slick of Claysburg; Mrs. Millie Keith of Buffalo, New York; and Mrs. Laverta Schmittle of Oregon; and one half brother, Harry Bowser of Lakemont.
Mr. Bowser was a lifelong member of the Grace Reformed church at Claysburg. The body was viewed at the son's home.
