Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 51, page 109 for Van Buren Township, Brown County records that Nellie Edell Settle, white female, age 1y 3m 7ds, died about 7 a.m. on January 17, 1901 in Van Buren Township. The cause of death was "Pulmonary Tuberculosis" of about 6 months duration. She was the daughter of James W. Settle, and Frances M. Sprague, both born in Indiana. The informant was E. B. Sherman of Waymansville, and she was buried at Grandview Cemetery in Brown County on January 18, 1901, William Dimps of Waymansville, undertaker.
