Frank L. Branson
Bogata - Frank L. Branson, 90, of Bogata died Thursday, June 4, at Red River Haven Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in the Bogata Cemetery with the Reb. Bob Posey officiating. Bogata Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Branson was born Oct. 31, 1896, in Kentucky, a son of James Garrett and Sarah Katherine Dees Branson. He married Anna Bell Wallace on Dec. 21, 1921, in Mount Pleasant. She died July 22, 1984. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bogata where he was a Sunday school teacher and deacon for many years. He taught school for 41 years and was superintendent of the Bogata schools for 32 years, retiring in 1960. After retirement, he was administrator of Thedford Homes in Bogata for seven years.
Surviving are a son, Frank Branson Jr. of Edgewood; two daughters, Dorothy Lowery of Liberty City and Virginia Pierson of Paris; one sister, Mrs. W. B. Washington of Clarksville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
