From Holt & Holt Funeral Home:

Alice Yantis, 102, of Boerne passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. We will all miss this wonderful, sweet, unselfish lady and are thankful that we were all blessed by her life’s journey of 102 years, 2 months, and 2 days. The family is planning a private graveside service.

Alice Kuehne Yantis was born on September 3, 1917 to Walter F. Kuehne and Alice Balsley Kuehne. Alice spent most of her childhood and early school years in Boerne. When the depression hit, the family moved to San Antonio where Alice graduated from South San High School. Alice became a Certified Dental Assistant working for several dentists during her career and was very active in the Dental Assistant Society. She was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was originally a member of the Bethany Chapter until its closure at which time she became a member of the Harlandale Chapter No. 750.

Alice married George Koyle Yantis in April 1937 and they were married 65 years until his death in 2002. They moved from San Antonio to Boerne in 1995 where they spent the rest of their lives. Alice and Koyle enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, playing cards, and gatherings with extended family for holiday celebrations. They were both very loving parents and grandparents. Alice was always very positive, encouraging, and a great example to her children and grandchildren. After retiring, she spent many summers taking care of her grandsons. She would take them to the mall, bowling, miniature golf, swimming, and she loved to play games with them.

Alice is survived by her three daughters, Judy Knape (David), Joan Pfeil (Ronnie), and Kathy Thomas (Lane); six grandsons, Kevin Olson, Jeffrey Clark (Sabrina), Cary Clark, Koyle Knape (Mouy), Scott Thomas (Tracy), and Paul Thomas (Molly); one granddaughter, Christie Strunk (Michael); 15 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Koyle; her parents, Walter & Alice Kuehne; her brother, Walter E. Kuehne; and her sister, Carolyn J. Landford.
