Minerva (Griggs) Kelley, age 54, died Saturday afternoon at 3:10 o'clock, May 5, 1917 at the home of her brother, S.M. Griggs, at 128 Seale Road, Phenix City, Alabama after a short illness of Typhoid Fever. She was a long time member of Epworth Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church.

Surviving Mrs. Kelley are her husband, A. C. Kelley; her four brothers, A. D. Griggs (Adolphus) of Montgomery; S. N. (Stephen Newton) and Norman Griggs of Girard; W. R. (Wilson Randall) Smith of Chester, Georgia, and four sisters, Mrs. Rhoden Griggs (Lorena), Mrs. William Mace Byrd (Carrie Lavena), and Mrs. Thomas Moore (Arrelia Aurelia "Relia") of Girard; and Mrs. James Thomas Cameron (Nancy Mae "Nannie") of Manning, Arkansas.
