Phyllis Fae Melton, of South Charleston, passed away, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at home after a long struggle with Alzheimers. She was longtime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, were she volunteered through their many ministries.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Emma Moore; sisters, Frances Amos, Marjorie Ashley and Raelene Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Everett Melton; daughters, Jeanne Basford (Tim) of Charleston and Mary West (Mike) of Liberty; son Earl Melton (Jean) of Charleston; sister Betty Beagle of Clendenin; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Spring Hill Baptist Church, South Charleston with Pastor Mark Patton officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mtn. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, WV.
Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview, is assisting the Melton family.
