Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Christian Church at Flippin by Rev. G. B KEETER for Jesse H. MORRIS, who died on Tuesday, July 10, at Albuquerque, NM. Following the funeral service, the Masonic Lodge took charge and burial was in the Flippin cemetery with Masonic honors.
A life time resident of Marion county, Mr. MORRIS suffered a paralytic stroke several years ago, since which time he has been partially disabled, but his cheerful disposition continued to the end, and it was always a pleasure for his friends to meet and converse with him.
A short time ago he went for a visit with his daughter, Miss Myrtie MORRIS, at Socorro, NM. He had undergone an operation at Albuquerque, and shortly after he came off the operating table he suffered a heart attack and the end came quickly and peacefully.
Mr. MORRIS was born August 12, 1885, at Big Flat, AR. On May 13, 1906, he was married to Miss Ethel Irene LEE, also of Big Flat. Surviving children from this union are O. Kyle MORRIS of Richmond, CA; Leo E. MORRIS of Bremerton, WA; Miss Myrtie MORRIS of Socorro, NM; Mrs. Fred GALLAHER of Albuquerque, NM; Chester Lavere MORRIS, H.M.C. U.S.N., USS BOXER; Sgt. Forrest L. MORRIS, U.S.A.F., Bermuda. Also surviving are four brothers, Gilbert C. MORRIS of Troy, TX; Neal H. MORRIS, Big Flat, AR; Walter F. MORRIS, Anadarko, OK; Edgar E. MORRIS, Granger, WA; and four sisters, Mrs. W. C. ROSE, Okmulgee, OK; Mrs. Frank SUTTON, Luber, AR; Mrs. Lige BALDWIN, Mountain View, AR, and Mrs. Darius MORRISON, Gracemont, OK.
Three of the children, Leo, Myrtie and Mrs. Letha GALLAHER, were here for the funeral, as were also three sisters, Mrs. W. C. ROSE, Mrs. Lige BALDWIN and Mrs. Darius MORRISON.
By his upstanding, Christian character, Mr. MORRIS attracted to himself a host of friends, all of whom join with the Echo in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
