Jacob Schoenborn
Funeral services for Jacob Schoenborn, 87, of Marytown, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marytown. Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Friday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home, where a parish vigil will be held at 8 p.m.

Mr. Schoenborn died Wednesday, May 22, 1991 at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein.

He was born Aug. 31, 1903, in Marytown, a son of John and Christina Guelig Schoenborn. On Nov. 7, 1934 he married Bertha Krebsbach in St. Peter.

Mr. Schoenborn and his wife farmed in the Marytown area until 1970 when they moved to Marytown. He had resided at the homestead for the past four years. Mr. Schoenborn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marytown, the church’s Holy Name Society and the Marytown Redman. He was a retired member of the Calumet Fire Department.

Survivors include one son, Roger and his wife Joyce of Marytown; one daughter, Verena Bennett of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Randal of Wisconsin Rapids, and Sandra of Marytown; and three sisters, Catherine Guelig, Alvina Blanck and Marie Andrews and her husband Roman, all of Mount Calvary.

Preceding him in death were his wife in 1978; one son-in-law, James Bennett; and one sister, Lorraine.
