Mr. Paul R. Pruitt, 82 years, died on Saturday at his home in West Peabody. He was the 31 year companion of Shirley A. Smith and her family and the husband of the late Joan (Altri) Pruitt.

Born and raised in South Carolina, he was the son of the late William F. and Lydia (O'Shields) Pruitt. A resident of the Beachmont section of Revere for many years before moving to Peabody in 1991, he was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he worked for many years as the Mechanical Plant Manager for Brigham's. Mr. Pruitt was a life member of the Beachmont VFW Post#6712 and the American Legion of Middleton Unit 0227.

Besides his companion Shirley, he is survived by two sons; Paul W. Pruitt of Winthrop, John R. Pruitt and John R. Pruitt & his wife Donna E. (Costa) Wood Pruitt of Beachmont, grandfather & uncle to many. He was the brother of Ola Adams, Grace Ellen Bullington, Boot McMillan & James Pruitt all of SC & 4 late brothers & 4 late sisters. Mr. Pruitt is also survived by his brother in-law of John Altri Jr.

In lieu of flowers donations his memory may be made to Alzheimers Assoc. of Eastern Mass., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.

SERVICE INFORMATION
A funeral service will be held in the Porcella Funeral Home, 876 Winthrop Ave., (Beachmont) REVERE, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
