Adrian Callender, 73, of Schwenksville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery.

He was the loving husband of Ann (Edwards) Callender for 52 years. Adrian was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania to the late Paris K. Callender and the late Lilian A. (Downs) Callender.

He graduated from Berwick High School, class of 1963. Adrian graduated with honors from Bloomsburg University, class of 1967 with a bachelor’s of science and education degree and later from Marywood University in Scranton, PA with a master’s degree in science and education degree.

Adrian was employed as an elementary school teacher for the North Penn School District and later was employed as a Director of Treatment & Diagnostics for State Correctional Institute - Graterford for 32 years.

He was a member of Berwick Bible Church, member of Limerick Chapel, and an attender of Faith Bible Fellowship Church. In 1977, Adrian was part of the volleyball ministry at Faith Bible Fellowship Church. He was a member of Club Genesis in Harleysville.

Adrian volunteered at the Daily Bread Food Pantry in Schwenksville and at the Keystone Opportunity Center in Souderton.

He loved spending time with his family and was known as “Poppy” to them. Adrian was an avid reader who enjoyed bowling, volleyball, exercising, jogging, and car shows. He also enjoyed traveling nationally and internationally and loved taking cruises with his wife. Adrian was a huge EAGLES fan.

He was a devoted family man. Adrian was a selfless, hardworking, intelligent man who had a good sense of humor and was always willing to helping others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children, Nichole A. Swartley & husband, Brian of Souderton, PA, Christian B. Callender & wife, Susan of Lansdale, PA, Kimberly L. Kardos & husband, Chad of Douglassville, PA, Patrick A. Callender & wife, Kerrie-Anne of Foster, NSW, Australia, Jeremy M. Callender of Schwenksville, PA; his 15 grandchildren – Morgan, Madeline, Kayleigh, McKenzie, Paul, Jacob, Lindsay, Daniel, Sydney, Ella, Nathan, Alexis, Jeremy II, Karill, & Laylani; and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Callender of Mayville, NY.

In addition to his parents, Adrian was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick J. Callender

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am.

Burial will take place at Elan Memorial Park Cemetery in Bloomsburg, PA.
