MT. SOLON, Dec. 3 – Alto P. Huffer, 50, a well known Mt. Solon farmer died at his home here yesterday evening at 11:30 following an illness of several days.

He was born Nov. 12, 1904 in Mount Solon, and was a son of Howard Kenneth and the late Mary Louise "Fanny" (Sheffer) Huffer.

Mr. Huffer, who had spent his entire life in Augusta County is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lila Roxie Huffer, his father, Kenny Huffer, of Mt. Solon, five brothers, and seven sisters, Cecil and B.H. Huffer of Mt. Solon; Roy Lee Huffer, of Staunton; Emmett Huffer, Harrisonburg and Russell Huffer, of Churchville; Mrs. Ollie Daggey, Mrs. Newton Michael, Mrs. Cleveland Knott, Mrs. Cam Huffer, Mrs. Troy Michael and Mrs. R.M. Casidy, all of Mt. Solon and Mrs. Albert Todd, of Alexandria.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at two-thirty from the Mt. Zion EUB Church near here. The Rev. Enis Dean, assisted by the Rev. Joe Sheets will have charge of the services and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will rest at the Bear Funeral Home at Churchville until Saturday afternoon when it will be removed to his late home.

Active pallbearers will be: Joe Horn, Joe Sheets, Bill Huffer, Harry Sheffer, Rodney Andrews and Berlin Michael.
Honorary pallbearers will be: E.S. Crummett, Alvin Huffer, Harvey Sheffer, Ed Shank, William Knott and Ed Floyd.
