Lena Virginia Casiday, 96, of Rt 2, Mount Solon died Sunday at Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.
Mrs Casiday had been in failing health several years and had live at Oak Lea eight years.
She was born in Augusta Co. Feb. 2, 1892, and was the daughter of the late Kenny Howard and Mary Frances Shaffer Huffer. Mrs Casiday had lived in Mt Solon her entire life and was a member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church.
On Dec 15, 1915, she married Earnest Luther Casiday, who died May 3, 1960.
Surviving are two daughters, Leona Lough of RT 2 Mt Solon and Eveyln Lawson of rt 3 Harrisonburg; a son William Casiday of rt 2 Mt Solon; two sisters, Mary Huffer of rt 2 Mt Solon and Annie Todd of Colonial Beach; a brother, Russell Huffer of Bridgewater Home; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grand children; and 2 great great grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Church of the Brethren by the Revs. Eugene Shaver and Herman Ropp. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at McMullen Bridgewater Home, where the family will recieve friends 7-8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends also may call at the home of William Casiday, rt 2 Mt Solon.
In lieu of flowers the family said that memorial donations may be made to Oak Lea Nursing Home, 1475 Virginia Ave., Harrisonburg, Va 22801
