George Samuel Brashear was born in Randolph County, Missouri, April 26, 1864, and was called to his reward March 16, 1938.

Mr. Brashear came to Texas County in 1893 and lived for a number of years and then moved away and stayed for some years, then in 1933 he came back to Texas county, locating at Raymondville, where he made his home until his Heavenly Father called for him.

He united with the Christian church some thirty years ago, of which he remained a member until the end came. Mr. Brashear has been quite active in religious work through the years, being a minister of the gospel, and also being quite active in Sunday school work.

On December 30th, 1885, he was united in marriage to Maggie B. Miller, and to this union seven sons were born. Three of the sons have preceded him in death.

Those who survive him and will miss him greatly are, his wife, Mrs. Brashears, of Raymondville, Mo.; four sons, Alven, of Raymondville, Mo.; Charley of Flora, Ill.; William, of St. Louis, Mo.; and Elba, of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Dixon of Raymondville, Mo., Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Climents, of Mexico, Mo. Also six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Raymondville church by Rev. J.R. Halbrook and burial at Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of Elliott Funeral Home.
