Delores Kost, 95, Fesssenden, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.

Delores Florence Fike, daughter of Lester and Ella (Weiss) Fike, was born September 14, 1924 on the Fike family farm 6 miles north of Bowdon. She grew up on the family farm and attended the nearby Bowman Consolidated School. She later attended Fessenden High School, graduating in 1942.

On May 31, 1942 Delores was united in marriage to Dale Kost at Fessenden. They lived in various states while

Dale served in the armed forces during WWII before establishing their home and trucking business in Fessenden. Delores worked as office manager for their trucking business, D & R Kost, Inc., until 1983 when the business was assumed by their son Ross. She was also employed by Farmers Union Oil Company, H & R Block, Berg Wholesale and Harvey Bakery during her earlier years.

Delores was a former member of the First Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir. She was a life member of the Frank Proisl American Legion Post #33 Auxiliary where she held offices and chairmanships on the local, district and state level. She was a charter member of the Wells Aerie Eagles Auxiliary.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Gwen Mehrer of Midwest City, OK; 3 grandsons. Dusty (Melissa) Kost, Brett (LuAnn) Lies & Dion (Paula) Lies; 5 great-grandchildren, Kadence, McKenzie & Madison Kost and Benjamin & Jonathin Lies; and two brothers, James (Val) of Alvarado, TX and Dennis of Fargo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale who passed away Feb. 21, 1990; her daughter, Karen Miller; her son, Ross; grandson, Damon Miller; her parents; 4 brothers, Lee, Earl and Larry and David; and 2 sisters, Geneva Parsons and Elaine Fruhwirth.

Funeral: Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church on Monday.

Burial: Hillside Cemetery of Fessenden.
