Jack Davis Edde of Lynchburg, passed this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at NHC of Tullahoma at the age of 92. Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lynchburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5 – 7 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home.
Mr. Edde, a native of Moore County, was the son of the late James Davis and Mattie Durham Edde. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lynchburg. He was a U S Army veteran and after serving began working at Sandia, a government contractor in Amarillo, TX at the Atomic Testing Facility. He then returned to his hometown and began working at AEDC as an Instrument Technician. He also operated a TV repair shop in Lynchburg and farmed. He was a member of the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Billie Gray Edde and seven brothers and sisters.
Mr. Edde is survived by son, Charles Edde (Nanette) of Hartsville, AL; daughters, Sara Edde Wilson (Van) of Helena, AL and Jackie Edde Rucker (Bob) of Brentwood; sisters, Tiny Conley and Fairmont, WV, Jean Anderson of Lynchburg and Katie Bell of Lynchburg and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to be made in his honor to First United Methodist Church of Lynchburg or the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge.
