Elnora Casida was a twin. She married Allen Ari Criss on 4 December 1880, in Vandalia, Indiana. They had 4 children: Elsworth, Rufus, Ina Pearl, and Grafton. Elnora's mother-in-law, Julieth Roberts Criss, came to live with her family after she was widowed around 1877.
Elnora sued for, and won, ownership of Julieth's property (90 acres) in exchange for caring for her after her husband Henry died.
