Funeral services for James Allen Moses, age 57, of Thorndale will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial in the Salty Cemetery in the Salty community.

Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the funeral home in Rockdale.

Allen was born July 26, 1962 in Taylor to James A. and Carmon (Parker) Moses. He lived all of his life in the Thorndale area and was a graduate of Thorndale High School. Allen worked as a heavy equipment operator with Mine Services in Rockdale.

He was a kind and gentle person who was always willing to help. He loved to hunt, fish and being outdoors but his favorite of all was visiting with friends and family.

Allen passed away Thursday morning, September 26, 2019 at his home near Thorndale.

He was preceded n death by his father, James on July 29, 2001; his mother, Carmon on February 5, 2004; and a sister, Mary Ann Moses on December 24, 1988.

Surviving is his uncle, Clifford Parker of Taylor and a host of cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Avery Weaver, Jacob Hall, Jackie Moses, Ricky Moses, Jimmie Dale Robertson, David Parker and honorary pallbearer is John Weaver.
