Jerry Oneal McDaniel, 76, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019. He was born December 25, 1942 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Otho Oneal and Lilly Mae (Spain) McDaniel. Jerry attended public schools and graduated from Porum High School with the class of 1960.
He married Lavonne Sanders in 1962 and shared 10 years of life and family together.

He attended Okmulgee Tech where he studied small engine repair and graduated at the top of his class. Jerry was a jack of all trades as he worked as a carpenter and could build or fix anything. He will always be remembered as a hard worker.

He met and later married Sherry Troutman in 1996 in Gore, Oklahoma. They shared many years of life, marriage, and memories together.

Jerry loved reading books, especially Louis L’Amour, usually reading one or two books nightly. He will always be remembered for his love of the country life. He loved hunting, fishing, shooting guns, his dog Hank, feeding the cows, and gardening. But most important was his love for his children and grandchildren and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Lilly McDaniel; wife, Sherry Troutman; sister, Sheen Harvey and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Leslea and Jason Ford; nephews, Rick McDaniel and Pauldean Harvey.
