Carrie Frances Sapp Nelson, 79, of Benjamin Rd., and widow of James Hilary "Jake" Nelson, died September 17, 2005 at her home.

Born in Preston, GA, she was a daughter of the late John T. & Helen Elizabeth Helms Sapp, was retired from Kemet Electronics, and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church & the United Methodist Women.

Surviving are a son, James Reed Nelson of Spartanburg; three daughters, Victoria Elizabeth Nelson Madden, Mary Elaine "Duck" Nelson Stover, and Judy Ann Nelson Godfrey, all of Gray Court; a brother, John T. Sapp of Golden, CO; a sister, Helen Necia Sapp Moore of Ware Shoals; eight grandchildren, Jody & Lindsey Madden, Tracy Schock & Timothy Nelson, Carrie Ellen Horne, Nicholas Stover, & Jesse & Hannah Godfrey; 5 great-grandchildren; & the aunt of eight nieces & nephews: Roger Moore, Wayne Moore, Tony Moore, Jeanne Phillips, Ronnie Moore, Terry Sapp, Bruce Sapp, & Tonya Sapp Hames.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ms Nelson was predeceased by a son, Charles Andrew "Charlie" Nelson; a grandson, James Edward "Jim" Nelson; & two brothers, Christopher Leonard Sapp & Robert Elbert Sapp.
