Helen Elizabeth Helms Sapp, 79, formerly of College Place, died February 27, 1983 in Laurens Nursing Center.

She was the widow of John T. Sapp whom she married on January 12, 1927. Born in Terrell County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ellis Hubbard and Lillie Hart Helms. She was of the Methodist faith and a retired seamstress.

Surviving are two sons, John Theodore Sapp (Ellen) of West Lake Village, CA, and Robert Elbert Sapp (Melda) of Laurens, SC; two daughters, Helen Necia Sapp Moore (Robert) of Ware Shoals, SC, and Carrie Frances Sapp Nelson of Hickory Tavern, SC; two brothers, Marlin Helms of Morrow, GA, and J.T. Helms of Rome, GA; three sisters, Thelma Walker (Willie) of Preston, GA, and Mae Cook (Floyd) and Martha Gilstrap (Dwight), both of Rome, GA; 13 grandchildren, Roger Moore (Debbie), Wayne Moore (Sandra), Tony Moore (Glenda), Jeanne Moore Phillips (Jimmie), Ronnie Moore, Mary Elaine Nelson Stover, Reed Nelson, Victoria Nelson Madden (Joe), Charles Andrew Nelson, Judy Nelson Godfrey (Ken), Terry Allen Sapp, Bruce Leonard Sapp, & Tonya Sapp.

She was predeceased by a son, Christopher Leonard Sapp.
