Herbert Patrick Rodriguez, age 54, a longtime resident of Lower Colonias, New Mexico passed away on March 4, 2010 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was born in Lower Colonias on December 14, 1955 to Julian Rodriguez and Aneda Benavidez-Rodriguez. He was a loving father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a longtime project building his own house and working on automobiles. He loved spending time with his daughters and enjoyed hiking. He was a self-employed contractor/plasterer for 37 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Julian Rodriguez. He is survived by his companion: Isabel Tapia of Santa Fe, NM; sons and daughters: Patrick H. Rodriguez and wife Diana of Las Vegas, NM; Ricky Rodriguez and girlfriend Michelle, Desiree Tapia, and Audrey Tapia all of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Patrick Jr., and Ricky Jr.; mother: Aneda Rodriguez of Lower Colonias, NM; mother of his sons, Kathy Porter; brothers and sisters: Sammy Rodriguez of Santa Fe, NM; Herman Rodriguez of Pecos, NM; Vidal Rodriguez of Espanola, NM; Edward Rodriguez of Lower Colonias, NM; and Melvin Rodriguez of Santa Fe, NM; Lydia Serrano of Lower Colonias, NM; Edwina Lucero of Fort Worth ,TX; Dolores Lujan of Pecos, NM; and Jeanette Gurule of Pojoaque, NM; numerous: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Public viewing will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Church in Pecos, NM. Rosary services will be conducted Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 3:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Church in Pecos, NM. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Church in Pecos,NM, with Father Gerard Johnson as celebrant.
