Ernestine 'Annie' Whitacre, 93, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on Sunday, November 15, 1925, in Radldorf, Germany. She married William R. Whitacre on Saturday, May 01, 1948 in Landshut, Germany; he preceded her in death on February 23, 1985. Annie attended school is Germany. She moved to the United States in 1948. She was a former member of the St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Montpelier until its closing and was currently a devoted member of the St. John’s Catholic Church, Hartford City. She was a member of the Alter & Rosary Society, Lions Club, and the Alpha Gamma Sorority. Annie retired from Sheller Globe in 1988 after 38 years of service, and had also worked for the Montpelier Food Bank. She loved working in her garden and her flowers were always beautiful. She enjoyed decorating for Christmas, and loved spending time with her family especially her granddaughter.
She will be sadly missed by her Son - Wayne Robert (Wife, Pam) Whitacre, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Granddaughter - Sarah Nicole Whitacre, Ft. Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by her Husband - William R. Whitacre, Montpelier, IN, Father - Martin Maier, Mother - Maria (Po"ppel) Maier, Brothers – Willie Bob Maier, Herbert Maier, Karl Maier, and Sister - Maria Baird.
Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Montpelier.
She will be sadly missed by her Son - Wayne Robert (Wife, Pam) Whitacre, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Granddaughter - Sarah Nicole Whitacre, Ft. Wayne, IN.
