Mrs. John B. Codr Died Suddenly

Mrs. John B. Codr, in her 72d year, passed away at her home in Dwight Sunday, Dec. 1, from a sudden heart attack.

Gabriela Marie Racicky, daughter of Petr and Marie Racicky, was born in Namesti, Moravia, March 15, 1875, coming to Butler county in 1892. On Oct. 23, 1893, she was married to John B. Codr at Abie and they lived on the farm at Linwood until moving to Dwight in 1935.

Three daughters and eight sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Codr, of whom an infant son and one daughter Marie, Mrs. Leo Coufal, have passed on. The children who with their father survive are Mrs. Ella Hottovy and Josephine, Mrs. Wm. Prochaska of Brainard, Alois, James, Adolph and Leo Codr of Ulysses, Rudy Codr of Seward, John Codr of Omaha and Emanuel Codr of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Also surviving Mrs. Codr are 34 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Marie Cordes of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Louis of Los Angeles and Anton of Greeley; and a half brother, Frank Vesely of Schuyler. One sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Codr was a devout member of the catholic church.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Assumption Catholic church at Dwight , in charge of Msgr. Mlejnek. Singing was by the Sisters choir. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Joseph and Leo Coufal, Alois and Anthony Hottovy and Ernest and George Prochaska. Burial was in Assumption cemetery.

In attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Racicky, Greeley; Frank Vesely, Schuyler; John Parolek and son John, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Novak, Mrs. Milo Shonka, John Bezousek and son, Mr. and Mrs. J. Zaloudek, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Cordes and Henry Cordes, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Danicoss, Milford.
