GLORIA GREGERSON BARLOW
Gloria G. Barlow, 70, died Dec 1, 1992 at her home in Maryland, after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 12, 1922 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of James Sylvestor Gregerson and Lucy Merle Andrus. She was active at East High School. Attended LDS Business College.In December 1941, she went to Washington DC to work for the Association of National Museums and has lived in the Washington area ever since. She married Milton A. Barlow in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, October 9, 1942, and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
She served with her husband, 1975-78, while he was president of New York, Rochester Mission. In 1983, they founded the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University, which has supported composers and commissioned works and performances.
Gloria Barlow had been a vice-president and member of the board of directors of the Barlow Corp of Chevy Chase, MD., a member of the board of directors of Dixie College in St. George, member of Inner Wheel, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Western Heritage Society, a worker in the Washington Temple and an active member of the Chevy Chase Ward.
Survived by husband, Chevy Chase; children, Milton Allan Barlow, Jr.; Alice Jones, Jeannette Frederickson, all Maryland; Gregory Barlow, Las Vegas; Kathleen Morgan, Connecticut; Nancy Francis, Calif; Gloria Bowman, Kansas; brother, James Gregerson, Salt Lake City; sister, Sylvia Scharman, Dallas; 25 grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, December 5, in Maryland. Interment: Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, Maryland.
