Gary W. Tanner, 60, of Marion passed away at 5:29 p. m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. Ed Martin officiating. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery south of Creal Springs.

Mr. Tanner was born on June 8, 1942, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Harold Wendelland Lenora (Whitehead) Tanner. He married Carolyn Bennett in August 1961, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, son, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, and her husband, a brother, John, and his wife; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Tanner was owner and operator of Tanners Pool Service in Marion. He was an ordained Freewill Baptist Minister and a member of Whiteash Community Church. He was a member of the Williamson County Shrine Club and Marion Masonic Lodge 89 AF&AM.
