He removed to Callaway County in February 1819 ands was one of its earliest settlers; the son of Solomon Craghead and Elizabeth Dunlap Craghead. His wife died about 18 months before him. He left four daughters and three sons, and two sisters, Sarah Craghead Kemp and Nancy Craghead Thomas.
He died at the home of his son-in-law, John Maloney.
