Mom was one of twenty three full, half and step siblings. The biological daughter of Henry W Barnes and Ottilie Charlotte Catherine Klima. She was the step-daughter to Andrew "Andy" Josef Jandraya Matic and James "Sandy" Sandercock. She had blue eyes and dark, almost black hair and loved wearing Orange Zing lipstick. In her later years she would change her hair color to a reddish tint. Even though she was around six years old she remembered her dad coming home from work and always having a piece of candy in his pocket for them.

At the young age of 18, mom found the love of her life, George Albert Treadway, son of Albert Lemuel Treadway/Tubberville and May Barbara Walters. I believe they were introduced to each other by her brother Donald. After a three month whirlwind courtship they moved to Portsmouth, Virginia, where his family resided and they married on 24 Dec 1949 . During the upcoming years with dad being in the military, mom went back and forth to her family in Cleveland, Ohio and his family in Portsmouth, Virginia. Their first daughter, Charlotte was born in Sep 1950 in Cleveland and died six months later in Mar 1951 in Portsmouth. In Dec 1953 a second child was born to them, George 'Georgie" Albert Jr. Georgie was born and died in Cleveland. He died at the age of four months in Apr 1954.

During the mid fifties dad was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. Mom remembers they had to wear radiation badges all the time. She mentioned that they had to change badges quite often due to high levels of radiation it was showing. She also stated that they seen blue snow fall. Mom would serve lunches to the serviceman at the officers club. During this time actor Guy Madison, John Hodiak and Virginia Leith was filming the movie called 'On The Theshold of Space'. Guys spouse always carried a small dog. Mom and Dad decided to sit under a tree and watch the filming one day. Guy and his spouse came by and sat next to them and mom offered water to their dog, Trixie. Mom said Guy was not very friendly and he would sing all the time, "I'm tired and I want to go home".

In New Mexico in 1956 their third child was born, a daughter, Barbara. She had beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair. After dads tour of duty in the Air Force was over they resided in Cleveland. Following in their big sisters footsteps two more girls were born, Cindy and Rosemarie, both born in Cleveland.

While in Cleveland, moms mom Grandma Sandercock had gotten sick. She moved in with us so mom could take care of her. I remember at a very young age how old she looked beyond her years and when she passed I seen mom kneeling at the side of the bed, holding a rosary, praying. After her passing in 1967, we moved to Portsmouth to be near dads family.

Mom loved being a cafeteria manager in Portsmouth. She did not like to see a child go hungry so if they wanted a second or third tray of food she never refused them. Kids loved her.

She liked to listened to hard rock music, especially the band, Metallica, we always teased her that she had the hots for the one arm drummer, Lars Ulrich. She was also a Hugh die hard NASCAR fan and loved Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. She would fuss at anyone that talked negative about "her boys". Barb and I used to help her collect Earnhardt memorabilia. One year he came to a dealership in Wilmington, Delaware and she brought a picture for him to sign. When it was her turn, she froze and then I thought she was going to jump over the table to give him a hug! She was devastated of his passing in 2001.

After dad died, mom was like a gypsy, she could not stay in one place for very long. She loved living with her daughters, but we always knew she was ready to move on when she started finding fault with things. She lived in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia. She passed in Georgia having her final eternal rest with dad and Rose in Portsmouth.
