Memorial services for Lydia Jane Crosby, 95, of Lubbock will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Ford Chapel. Revered John Ballard will officiate. Graveside services will be held at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 6:30 to 7:30 pm. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crosby was born Sept. 13, 1909 in Dripping Springs. She and her family moved to Eden shortly after her birth in a covered wagon. Mrs. Crosby, a Texas Tech alumnus, taught third grade in Idalou for six years until she married Alfred Crosby in 1937.

Mrs. Crosby was an active volunteer with the First Baptist Church, Junior League of Lubbock, Lubbock Women's Club (past President), Garden Club, Super Club, and a founding member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at Texas Tech.

Mrs. Crosby is survived by her daughter, Nanette Kimbrough of Los Lunas, NM; a brother, Jim Robbins of Lubbock; granddaughters Robin Troy and husband Brent of Albuquerque, and Shannon Luce and husband James of Albuquerque; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Troy, Jacqueline White, Andrea and Katherine Luce; and one great-great grandchild, Brandon Lee.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Sanders Funeral Home.
