Great-Great-Grandfather

His first marriage was to Margaret who was born about 1818 in Alabama.
On December 28, 1864 as James Hindman, he married Margaret Luckey at Lamar County, Texas.
On August 29, 1867 as James Hindman, he married Maryanty or Mary Autry Wheeler at Fannin County, Texas.

Tennessee native. He is first found in Jackson County, Alabama.
In 1858, he and his family moved to Lamar County, Texas.
He was married at least three times.
His first wife was Margaret born in Alabama and the mother to all of his children.
It is not known when she died or where she is buried.

The second and third wives of James Hindman had very similar names.
The second wife was Margaret Mary and the third wife was Mary A.
The date of death and burial location for his second wife is also unknown.

There is a definite link between the Hindman and Price families.
James Hindman was a Private in Captain Cowan's Company in the Florida War.
His daughter, Martha Hindman, married Robert Price, whose father was Daniel Price.
The tombstone of Daniel Price has the inscription: Capt Cowan's Co, Ala Mtd Vols, Indian War.
