CALDWELL - Mrs. Amanda Brooks, 82 died Tuesday at her home at 1201 Blaine street, following a short illness.

Born Feb. 10, 1876 in Hancock County Tenn., Mrs. Brooks was married Feb. 1, 1900 to Henry C. Brooks near Cumberland Gap, Va., where they made their home for a year after their marriage. They then moved to Kentucky where they lived until 1905, moving to Texas then and residing there until 1928 when they came to Caldwell to make their home. They had resided here since that time.
She was a member of the Baptist church in Hopewell Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks had celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Feb. 1.
Survivors inaddition to her husband of Caldwell, include four sons: Elmer, Homer and Louis, Caldwell, and Ira Brooks, Twin Falls; three daughters: Mrs. Ross Kinsey, Caldwell; and Mrs. Harley Horn and Mrs. W.D. Lloyd, both of Boise; two sisters: Mrs. Will Rowlett, Ewing, Va., and Mrs. W.M. Brooks, Caldwell; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Flahiff chapel with the Rev. Harry Howard officiating. Interment will be at Canyon Hill.
