Roy H. McKellips, 81, 1103 Harrison, LaPorte, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday in Holy Family hospital, LaPorte. He had been ill since November.
He was born in Westville, July 13, 1877, and had lived in LaPorte county his entire life. He was retired from Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing company.
Dec. 30, 1898 he was married to Edith Harris in Westville. She preceded him in death Oct. 7, 1953.
The decedent was a member of the LaPorte First Presbyterian church, Westville Masonic lodge, 192 F&AM, Orient chapter 55, OES, LaPorte and Allis-Chalmers Senior League.
Survivors include one son, Allen Scott McKellips, of Valparaiso, and one daughter, Mrs. Everett Don Forville, of Lafayette, five grandchildren and one brother Harry, of Lodi, Cal.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Otto E. Giese Funeral home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Calvin W. Didier of the First Presbyterian church, LaPorte, officiating. The Westville Masonic lodge will conduct services at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the Giese Funeral home in LaPorte from noon Friday, until time of services.
